JWheeler Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 So after going over all my gear from this weekends fishing, I found a rod with and eye closest to the seat with the inner ring missing. Is there anything out there to repair this with?
Priority1 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) I keep old busted rods, and use them for parts. I never tried to repair a eye, I just replaced them. Wrap them with thread and steal some of Beth's clear nail polish and give them a few coats. It will likely P-ss her off, but the rod will be good as new. Edited June 18, 2008 by Priority1
Capt Craig Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Try superglue first and replace the eye if it doesn't hold
JWheeler Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 I will give this a try. I assume you can buy the eyes at any fishing store? I would rather try to repair this then by a new rod. And would definitely like to repair this before I lose a fish to it also....
tltorrice Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Jason you can also get rod building parts at http://www.anglersworkshop.com/ or http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/. They both have a good selection for all types of rods. Hope this helps.
