Dv8oR Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 My uncle had to have a boat surveyed for insurance and part of the survey was checking fuel tank ground. He said it was a good idea to have it done annually.Am I thinking of this right when I'm thinking, just making sure it has its ground and the cable isn't green weenied/corroded????
Catfishhoge Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 If it has a metal tank you can check it with an ohm meter pretty easy.Rick
Dv8oR Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Well that makes sense! He has an aluminum hull, mines glass. Can you have a metal tank in a glass boat? What can happen if the ground is no good?I have the original owners manual for my 86 boat and says nothing about it in there. (I'm kind of an owners manual freak)Tim
