2UNREEL Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Just picked this up this week! It's a 1985 25 Sea Ray Sundancer. My wife, kids and I are really excited about stepping up and spending even more time on the water. It's probbably going to take me a few weeks to get her rigged up/tuned up for fishing. Untill then I am still going to fish out of the UNREEL. Right now I am busy thinking of a new name for this boat. That's always a tough decision.
Satisfaxion_Gauranteed Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Congrats on the new ride! She looks like a beauty that will surely provide many hours of quality time on the lake.
2UNREEL Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 That's one I havent thought of yet... I kinda like that.
GLF Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 That boat looks in GREAT shape! You and your family will enjoy it.
Priority1 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 She looks to be in VG condition. I like the 4REEL name. The flow is right for the 4REEL name. From UNREEL to 4REEL. Anyway congrats on the new ride.
Tad Pole Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 looking good, now the hard part, what do i buy new, where do i mount this, maybe I'll try it this way this time,oh man this is gonna be awesome...... we have rerigged the Tad Pole for the third year in a row and there is always changes you wanna make. but anyway looks awesome I'm a little jealous
tltorrice Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Nice boat Andy. You should be able to get many hours of fishing enjoyment in her. Now the fun part, setting it up with all of the toys and equipment.
2UNREEL Posted April 26, 2008 Author Posted April 26, 2008 Thanks for the compliments, I have a plan of attack for the coversion for the equipment from the UNREEL over to ???This Boat???? Another dilema is I need to buy a tow vehicle. My Jeep Cherokee just is not going to cut it for this boat. I'm looking at Yukons, Tahoes, and Expeditions. You guys have any thoughts or suggestions on that...
boomerang Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 nice vessel, as far as a tow vehicle, get the biggest thing your vallet can manage, especially if your going to tow a long way or alot. i cant see that a F150 or the like would pull that easy without putting alot of stress on the powerplant and the rest of the mechanicial systems, also you may consider the towing package suspention and an additional transmission oil cooler
2UNREEL Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Well I just put some money down on a 2000 Ford Expedition today, I am going to finish up the paperwork on Monday and then I'm good to go. Anyone looking for a 98 Jeep Cherokee Classic? I have one for sale.
1mainiac Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 find a older Ford f 250 diesel with the 7.3 they run forever and get decent mileage I average close to 19 with just the truck and around 17 towing the 26ft boat. A friend of mine has the chip kit and ram air on his he gets 21 mpg and will smoke the tires if he wants to play. Have had mine 7 years now and have put on over 90k miles with no problems other than tires and brakes and batteries no repairs at all. Best part is they are getting cheaper every day as people trade em in for econo cars. With the cost of fuel all mine does anymore is pull the boat and haul stuff but it is paid for itself several times over so I am fine with it.Nice boat Tight Lines
1mainiac Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Opps should read the rest of the posts and look at the dates sorry for the late comments
2UNREEL Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Thanks for the reply, I would have bought a F250 diesel had the fuel cost been cheeper. I drive my Expedition truck 65 miles a day and its not horrible on gas, I average 15-16mpg and so far what little I have towed my new boat it has not been too bad. The test will be hauling up to Muskegon this weekend. I have now rebuilt the entire top end of the engine in my boat and I will be testing it out on Thursday in prep for the Dreamweaver CFT on sunday. I am EXCITED!!!! Thursday will only be the 2nd time I have had this boat on the water, I need to get my programs set. I haven't even powered up and used my new Lowrance fish finder yet
1mainiac Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I am planning on going out for a couple hours tommorrow night if I can get home from work at a decent hour. Got a spot I haven't fished yet this year about time to see if it is as good as it was last year. Last year I averaged 6 fish a night out of this spot mostly 10lbs and up several times could not keep a lure in the water fish were hitting so fast. Will look forward to seeing everyone this weekend.Tight LinesJim
