schultzs Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Picked up two nice eyes last evening trolling plastic. Several boats around. Some catching, some just fishing. 4-6' seemed the ticket. Both in dark and clear water. Can't believe the guys using 3 lines. Wonder if they caught any browns? Yeah right.
Priority1 Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks for the report. The 3 line thing could bite them. I'm going to try and get out of AuGres or Tawas a couple of times this week. I'll probably leave Priority1 home and fish out of a friends 17 footer. In the Spring the smaller boats rule.
schultzs Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Small boats make it easier to get into the shallows. There was an 18-20' Lund cruising around. There is a definite clear/dark water line around 5-6 FOW. We saw fish caught in both waters. We took our 2 to right [west] of channel going with the wind. Saw some caught into the wind too. Clown took both.I will get back up some morning this week. Not sure how the am bite will be.
schultzs Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Correction: we fished mainly east of the channel. Need to turn on "my" gps.
JWheeler Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks for the report, keep um' coming.....Hopefully docked in AuGres here in the next couple weeks for the summer. I really got the itch
Priority1 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'm going to try and do a quick shakedown cruise tomorrow morning. Hopefully the wind will not be too bad. I will probably fish for about 2 hrs.
