caznik Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Well I woke up at 5am to get ready for Dirty dog from this site and another guy named Drake from the MS site to come over to my house and go out ice fishing. When everyone got together we tried out Lawhead lake North of Barry Co. and make a big mistake by going there. First off the fish was not bitting good at all and hardly marked anything. I think our total fish that we ended up with out of three guys was only 15. The weather was very cold and the lake had lots of ice still on it. We all used wax worms, mousies, and spikes. Well when it turned to be 10:00am we decided to just go at my house and clean the fish and have some pizza before we went back out again to try another lake.2:30pm: After eating pizza and eating what fish we caught, we decided to go fishing at Lower lake in Barry Co. Fishing was still very tough there to, with hardly any marks on the VEX. But as soon the sun started to go down the fishing got much better. Out of three guys we ended up with around 30 bluegills. The hot bait for me was mousies with a yellow and orange hook. There was also and fun time out fishing for about 15 minutes when Dirty dog had a pike on his ice pole on 2lb. test. He fought that fish for a long time before it finally broke off. I sure wish that he caught that pike because I liked of seen it. Well thanks Terry and Dave for fishing with me Saturday , it was very fun and you are all welcome to come again.good luck members if you can get out and ice fish,Caznik
Priority1 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Good report Cazz. Even though the fish didn't cooperate fully, you got out fishing with a couple of friends. It's always nice to fill your limit, but we all know there is more to fishing than catching them. Nothing like some gills on the pan.
DIRTY DOG Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 thanks for the invite rich ,i had a great time and would be interested in doing it again
