T28guy Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I would like to know what most are using to provide a light source for their glow bait. I have heard a camera flash works well and others swear by a black type light. I am looking to purchase something here shortly and would like to get it right the first time for a changeThanksTodd SmithKnot NormalGrand Haven
boomerang Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 camera flash works well but make sure not to blind yourself! here is another option..johnhttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0054965019815a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=uv+led+blacklite&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=uv+led+blacklite&noImage=0
Priority1 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I start by laying out my lures on the engine cover. If the sun is out they get charged that way, but if not I have two fixed 55 watt halogen lights shining down on the fishing area. Just before sending them down I flash them with a LED mini mag light.
JWheeler Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I have a flasher. It takes 2 AA batteries and it is specifically made to flash like a camera. I think I paid about 15 bucks for it a few years ago. Batteries last a long time, and I believe that it works well on charging up the glow lures.http://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/item.asp?id=19118It is a power flash.
DIRTY DOG Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 i use a 1million candle power spot lite ,got it at the doller store and it works great for coming in after dark alsoterry
tltorrice Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I have an old camara flash that seems to work. The price was right.
LongLine Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I use a flashlight called "Illuminator." It's a wind up LED & just as bright as a camera flash. (At least I can't look at it) About $17. No batteries, no bulbs to buy. Easy to find, just do an internet search.
T28guy Posted February 8, 2008 Author Posted February 8, 2008 I was thinking of hooking up the flash. I also remember reading somewhere that they were using a black light of some sort. Just need to find one to give a try.
DangerDan Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I've been using this one for a while now. I added a second light fixture shortly after building it and it makes my spoons and spinners glow real nice.
spoonfed Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 ive got about the same box with the black light. the spot light works also but i think the charge last longer with the black light
