Been a while since i was in the game, but i do know some ting or da udder...

anyway my question... I inherited a sizable stash of older tackle, a ton of North Ports, and small flutters. With the rage of magnum spoons, are most folks running their spoons naked? we used to run flasher/ flutter combos, is this a thing of the past? Am i just daft? 4_6_2v.gif

Chime in with any other comments, please.

You can run a spoon behind a dodger or flasher but for the most part the spoon is run clean. The spoons have their own action as do most plugs. Meat rigs, flies, and squid are run behind the flashers. When thing are not happening I do something different. It's NOT against my rules to run a spoon or plug behind a dodger. I don't think I ever run spoons behind a flasher.:)

Since Flys have come on so strong, most do not run spoons behind flashers any more.

In Dan Keatings book (Keating on Kings) he speaks mainly of running your spoons clean. The best way to run that flasher/spoon combo is to say put a flasher/fly on the inside rigger and a clean spoon on the out side rigger a bit above and back further.

Take those magnum spoons and get some glow paint,

Mike (GLF) has a great post on that.

I have to say there is nothing wrong with running a spoon behind a flasher! Caught alot of fish on that combo this year. We fish the 333 tournys and anything goes! When the kings shut down mid day that was a HOT combo:grin:
