toanton Posted January 23, 2008 Author Posted January 23, 2008 One more question about rod holder for dipsy rod. Can I use ordinary plastic scotty rod holder for it ?
Priority1 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 One more question about rod holder for dipsy rod. Can I use ordinary plastic scotty rod holder for it ? The Dipsys require a stout rod and a substantial rod holder. The plastic Scotty Rod holder is not up to this. I tried the Scottys for one season. I drilled and pinned them to keep them for popping up. I also tethered my rods, while using them. The next year I went with some BigJon rod holders. I was afraid I was going to lose a rod reel.
