stillfish Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Just wondered if we can start posting ice fishing reports, sence no one fishes the big lk in winter?
JWheeler Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Bring em' on!!!! I was out one time so far this year. I have been to damn busy to fish:angry2:, but am heading out this weekend to the sag. bay somewhere on the east side. Reports have been not good for fishing, but the ice seems to be OK. My friend is on a small inland lake as we speak, and says there is only 3-4" of ice. With that being said, I would still take your spud this weather has been crazy!!! Hopefully Sunday I will have a good report... til' then good luck...
Paulywood Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I went to Lake Margrethe last friday but didn't catch anything. We were on the wrong end of the lake. Marked a few walleye but no takers. Probably go out again next weekend. Too busy this week.
DIRTY DOG Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 i fished a small lake in van burren co. and had a limet of blue gills last nite and again tonite all aroung 8 to 9 inches
bluefin75 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Paulywood, Were you fishing on the wrong side of the lake, camp grayling side? I've always had better luck over on the west boat launch out in twenty foot of water.
Paulywood Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Yeah we were. Last time I was up there (2 years ago) we fished off the west boat launch and everyone was fishing off the camp. This year it was the opposite. Might try again next weekend.
JWheeler Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Went to east side of the bay today. Lots of fish around, most on the small side. An enormous pike came through my holes, looked at my presentation for a minute, and skidaddled. Saw good number of walleye, not real big, maybe a few eaters. Also saw 2 lake trout:confused:. Nothing for the grill, but do think the location is worthy of another look on another day. Out at least 1 mile, ice seemed good, I thought it was around 6", buddy took his ruler to it and measured 9"....lot of quads and machines out. There was a crack west of where we were fishing. Scoped it out a little, maybe 4' of open water.Good luck...
stillfish Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 Yes, bluefin put the hurtin to the little perch on the west end, what were they about 4-5 inchers......
Paulywood Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Went to Lake Missaukee yesterday, caught 50 gills, crappie and sunfish between the 5 of us, only 4 keepers. My brother had an Aqua View and it was neat to see how many fish there were down there, that didn't want to bite!
