boomerang Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 who makes the block for a 1997 mercruiser alpha1 3.0L 4cylinder 135hp THANKS!!!
Rayman96 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Here a couple of sites that may be of assistance. The first link sells any part right up to full engine packages. The second site is a forum where you can get do-it yourself info.Good luck with you're search.http://www.michiganmotorz.com/http://www.marineengine.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi
Dv8oR Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 The tag right on the valve cover or intake will tell you too.I suspect GM but I would need firing order (also on the intake) or the # of the oil filter on it too confirm.!!!
Priority1 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 The 3 liter Mercruiser is most definitely a GM block. That block has been used for over 20 years. I have a 1986 version of it in my boat. It's a tough engine.
Mike Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 You can also gat parts such as spark plugs, filters and some gaskets from your local ac/delco parts store. Just give them the part numbers. Usually you will save a significant amount of coin.
boomerang Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 thanks very much for the info....!!! i was thinking it was GM but id take a poll of more expericenced persons than myself....great little motor...working fine i think with the right ammount of TLC iam sure it should last a couple/3 thousand hours
