Well I finally got a chance to get back out yesterday.

We got a late start, never left the dock till noon. Went out to "the Hump" North of Fairport. Drops from 39' to 53' in a few yards.

Large pack of boats, very little chatter on the radio, when there was it was we got a few, or we are just picking at them. I didn't have my hope up too hight when I heard that.

Set up in 1 spot, saw few marks on the screen, only stayed about 10 mins. setup #2

same as first few marks, no fish interested in my baits.

Set up # 3. We were in 53' saw a small depression on the bottom, thought what the heck give it a try.

Well the anchor was set, lines in the water, by this time it's crowding 1:30,

Fish started hitting, just sucking the baits in more of a "fell the weight" bite, then it all broke loose... But only off the starboard side at the stern !

I have no idea what made that the hot spot, but that was the only position on the boat that was catching fish.

So, we both fished that corner, and we were back at the dock by 4:30 with a two man limit of very nice perch! We had 2 fish Ohio, (13 inchers) and several that were crowding that length.

What a great ending to a day that didn't hold a whole lot of promise.

Ray, call me and we will get out next week, after this wind calms down. Bill.
