luv2fish Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Went out Wednesday afternoon/evening from 4:30 to 10:30 with the8point. It was a great evening for fishing except for all of the darn flies! We went 3 for 6, having a hard time getting a bite as well as keeping a consistent speed. We fished straight out, starting @ 80 ft., fishing all the way out to 150 ft. Our first fish came @ 135 ft. on the downrigger and a NK caramel dolphin, 45 back and 70 down. Not too long after that, we had 2 more rips, both with the same set-up, losing both. We then started trolling back in and @ 110 ft., we got our second fish on a dipsy diver with a squeechie fly(green glow). While fighting our second fish, the wire dipsy went off 110 ft. back with green fishcatcher and green caznik fly. Although it was tough having a double on in the dark, we ended up landing both fish. The three fish weighed 18 lbs., 15 1/2 lbs., and 13 lbs. All in all, it turned out to be a very good trip out!
Priority1 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 WTG Luv2Fish. Those fish on homemade lures are extra special.
GLF Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 The flies can be a real pain in the a$$! Great job of catching!
