I have my boat fixed. After the dreamweaver tourney, I went back to the boat and pulled the carb, and took it apart. There was a small piece of dirt/debree stuck on the needle valve. The debree did not allow the needle valve to fully seat, causing the engine to flood.

Is there a small filter that should have caught this inside the carb where the fuel line attaches?

you can install a in-line filter just before the carb in the fuel line if your boat doesn't already have one,you can get the at any parts store

easy to install all you need is the filter cut the line and install in the line with hose clamps.

many filters are very small and usually clear plastic or glass.

one suggestion though buy 2 so you have a spare on board

On the carb where the fuel line enters there is usually a small paper filter inside of there. depending on the carb there is a small line going into a bigger housing, thats where the filter is. Pull the small line off and gently pull it to the side, remove the larger housing. It is best if you use flare nut wrenches, the nut is easy to strip.
