doughman Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 I have seen/done plenty of the dipsey/flasher/fly but does anyone use flasher fly combo off their riggers?Marv
Priority1 Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Yes, I have run flasher fly combos on the Dipsys and Riggers.
Dv8oR Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Yup!Mike (GLF) and I were just talking tonight about it.....He actually may play with a little fire in the morning and run a S/D Fly off the ball and a slider too!!!Can be effective, but can also be very messy!!!!
Priority1 Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I never tried a slider above a Flasher. I just could imagine a tangled mess. I would be interested on how that played out.
Rob Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I run flasher fly combos off the riggers all the time. Works great I try to keep them around 25 ft tops behind the ball. I also aways run sliders above them. Try a fixed slider about 10 ft above it.
GLF Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I ran two flasher/fly combos, and sliders on the riggers during the dreamweaver event today. Unfortunately I did not catch any fish on it.
bluedevil Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Large white hootchie and green fly or meat on an outside rigger 70-100' behand the ball has been very good for me in the past.
tbromund Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 The last two seasons, a mountain dew spin doctor with a green crinkle fly, on a short lead (typically 8-10 feet) off my probe rigger has been my single hottest rod.Tim
