mrhookup Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Do you guys run different kinds of spoons at the same time at the same speed? Can you run standard size Stingers with Stingray Stingers at the same speed? Can you run either of these with standard size Dreamweavers? Just wondering if you have to have all your spoons the same size and brand for all of them to have a good action because I need to restock my tackle box as I seem to have lost about half my spoons and the ones left are a mixture of stingers, dreamweavers, and north port nailers.
GLF Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I only run stingers, so I can not say how the other brands run. I have run all 3 Stinger sizes at the same time. Stinger spoons are light. This allows them to be trolled at a slower speed, along with the faster speeds without loosing action. In the spring, it can be pulled at 1.7 without any issues, and during the summer and fall, you can pull it over 3.2 without any issues.
Satisfaxion_Gauranteed Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I've run them all at the same time from various manufacturers with success. If you're finding a speed and direction combination that works, then stick with that and use the lures you feel good about. I'm beginning to think more and more that the speed and direction of the spread is as least as important as the lure selection in the water.
