HitMan
Fishing has again improved out of Grand Haven. Limit catches of large King Salmon (11-19 pounds) are being taken along with a few Lake Trout and large Steelhead (10-15 pounds) as well. The best fishing has been from 80-120 feet of water on out to 160 feet of water as the day progresses. Downriggers 40-80 feet down, 5-15 colors of Lead Core, 150-300 feet of Copper and Divers 120-180 feet back have all been producing well. The Carmel Dolphin Stingray continues to be one of the hottest baits of the year! This has been working great on 8-15 colors of Lead Core and 150 and 225 feet of Copper. The Natural Born Killer Stingray, Gold Watermelon Stingray, Double Orange Crush Stingray, Lemon Ice Stingray, Die Hard Stingray, Jawbreaker Stingray and regular-sized Stinger, Cory's Bait Stingray, Glo Dolphin Stingray, Blue Cory's Bait Stingray, Blue Dolphin Stingray, Green Dolphin and Blue Freakin' Veggies Stingray have all been consistently producing spoons. More and more fish are being taken on flasher/fly combinations. An 11 inch Pro-Troll HotChip White/Glow flasher with an Oceana Rapture Fly or a Frosted Fern Rapture Fly have been consistent producing rigs along with an 8 inch Pro-Troll ProChip White flasher with a Hit Man No-See-Um Rapture Fly or an Oceana Rapture Fly. The Oceana Rapture Fly and Frosted Fern Rapture Fly have been our two most consistent producing flies of the year! Also, an 8 inch Pro-Troll ProChip Green/Glow flasher with a Wild Fern Rapture Fly, Last Supper Rapture Fly or Hypnotist LG Rapture Fly has been producing as well. Other flies that have been working are the Hypnotist Rapture Fly, Blue Hypnotist Rapture Fly, Blue Fern Rapture Fly, Green No-See-Um Rapture Fly and Blue No-See-Um Rapture Fly.Fishing is very good for this time of the year! There are a lot of big fish around!!! Get out fishing and good luck to all!!!
