GLF Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 I have an anti-fouling net. This net has some kind of rubber coating over the netting to prevent the hooks from going through the nylon. What I have noticed, when netting a fish, the fish have a tendancy to "stick" to the net, instead of "sliding" into the net. This results in the fish getting back out of the net when trying to lift the net. I have had this happen several times. I will be removing the anti-fouling netting and putting regular netting back on.Anyone else have any expierence with anti-fouling nets?
Priority1 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I don't like them at all for Salmon fishing. They are fine for Walleye. I don't own one, but used one on my brother's boat. I always lift the net vertical to close the bag and lock em in.
Satisfaxion_Gauranteed Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I also used to have an ati-fouling net and didn't like it. My net now does occaisonally catch the hooks of my lure, but not too bad. I've learned that, once the fish is over the boat, have the guy who was fighting the fish keep some tension on the lure just to keep it out of the net should the fish opt to roll. This has helped me quite a bit. Plus, if the fish spits the in the net, the lure will come right out of the net easily if somebody had the line to in his hand.
