Which Rod????

With all of the different amounts of core that people have on their rods, how do you keep track of which rod has what on it?

I put colored electrical tape just above the handle. The color of the tape tells me how much core is on the rod. This rod is a half core.

I am missing a couple of colors of tape. Once I have all the colors, I will redo them as the color code for resistors.

Black 0

Brown 1

Red 2

Orange 3

Yellow 4

Green 5

Blue 6

Violet 7

Gray 8

White 9

I write the # of colors right on the reel plate with a contrasting color marker.

I barrow the label maker at work that prints in big red letters "5 color" or "super braid" and place it just above the reel.

Any electronic techs that know the saying for remembering the color codes? I learned it while in the service while going to my A-school in 1986. I still remember it today!

I use the packs of numbered stickers found at hardware stores. You have to super glue the edges to keep them on though.
