Sea-Mac Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Went out with my dad and his buddy Mark. Hit the water at about 7am and headed out to 130fow and set up going west a little north, had 4 fish in the box by the time we got to 180 fow. Turned around to go east and picked up 1more 12lbs. (biggest of the day). West troll was the best troll (Just as rdfishin predicted for me, thanks buddy) Ended up going 9-11 with one steelhead. Around 11am we couldnt get anything going and just needed one more. Pulling the lines in at 2pm to call it a good day we had one on the 7 color w/ monkey puke but lost her.Ugh. Took 2 fish on spinnie/fly the rest on spoons blue dolphins /green dolphins/ michigan blueberry. 5,7,10 color cores/dipseys out 120-210 and riggers down 50-70 all took fish. Beautifull day for fishing!!
Tad Pole Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Hit the launch at about 3:30 pm setting lines at 4:00 in 170 fow,45 min until the first hit, dipsy set 200 back, white with blue spin doctor with a aqua man fly,King about 8 lbs4 color lead core went next with a glow easter egg 5 lbs coho, then the rigger set at 85 ft. popped with a about 3 lbs steal head on, landed both so that was the Tad Poles first double this yearOne more hit about a hour later and lost it 20 ft behind the boat.based on reports and last weeks experience we went out too deep and stayed out too late,we heard on the radio that others were doing better closer in ( 110-130 fow) so we trolled east and by the time we was pulling lines we were in 110 and marking allot of fish but no late takers.all in all great day on the lake and the weather was the best
