silver one Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Hit the water at southhaven and set lines at about 5 pm yesterday evening for outr first trip out this year. Only trolled for about 2.5 hours and ended up one for one on a coho that took a black and red thinfin on a line board 50' back and 75' out on the line counter. water was 43.3 degrees 10' down on the subtroll, and 44.1 on the surface. I question myself as the water was very coudy and now debate wether or not I should have went out looking for clearer water but would have lost fishing time to do it as the evening doest not leave you much on the way of time when home it 1hr and 10min away. Call it hiensight. Lake had about a 1' chop and it was brezzy but being off shore made for a nice shake down cruise.
Catfishhoge Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Good deal! I think you made the right call staying in close. Still a bit early and cold to find many fish out deeper but it is not far off!Rick
GLF Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Did you head towards the nuker or fish around the piers? Everyone has been going towards the nuker.
silver one Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 we trolled all the way down to the nuker and back. we picked up the coho on the troll back going with the waves.
silver one Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 Rick what is the name of your boat and what port do you hale from? You look familiar.
GLF Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 The lake was turned up pretty good earlier in the week. I am sure the lake being turned up did not help the matters any.
