sp_vessel Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Heading up for the weekend. Has anyone had any luck at the tip of the thumb yet? I'm trying to decide whether to stick with the walleye fishing around Caseville or try for silvers. Any recent reports would be greatly appreciated.
rogerh69 Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 FWIW Here's a report from another board. "PORT AUSTIN SALMON FISHING: So far, nothing in regards to silver, heard on the radio a few being caught, but I couldnt get anything going. Greasers were there in big numbers, so yea, pretty much the same (IE nada)
GLF Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Here is the dnr report.Port Austin - Anglers are still taking lake trout. Pier anglers have caught walleye very early in the morning.
sp_vessel Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 Thanks, I've been watched a bunch of boats come in at PA during lunch on the webcams. (Helps pass the time!) Those camaras are a great feature if you have not already seen the site: http://www.huroncounty.com/?PORT_AUSTIN_WEBCAM&page_id=7 I will most likely be out tomorrow morning even if it means sticking a few lakers.
Captain Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Fishing has been tough for the last week. The charter fleet has pounded the waters from Port Hope to Port Austin and even the Laker bite has slowed down. A few salmon have been caught. Mostly small Kings, cohos, steel and and lots of pinks....Good Luck
