Priority1 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Many of you know that plastic boards are available to mount transducers and eliminate making new holes through the transom when changing out equipment. You may also know that you can use plastic cutting boards, from the Mart stores for this purpose, at a fraction of the cost. Another great use for these plastic cutting boards is backing plates for equipment. The plastic is tougher than nails, inexpensive, will not rust, will not rot, and is easy to cut and drill. Use them to cut backers for everything from rod holders to downriggers.
captain_crabass Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 just wanted to add, if you dont want to poke holes in the boat, use 3m 5200 sealant to bond the board to the boat, that way all the holes are in the plastic and not your boat, be forewarned, if you ever want to remove it , Good Luck
