SCW Charters Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I am an "older"guy (70+) with an old boat (1988 Thompson) but new to this site. I run charters out of Cape Vincent and fish both the St. Lawrence River and Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario. This is the time of year when I collect fishing info and pass along some tips that I have learned since I started chartering in 1997. I am always open for info and if anyone is interested, I am located on the FishingBooker site.
FBD Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Thompsons were great boats, right until they were not…
SCW Charters Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Yes, the company got cheap and then went out of business but I really like my old 240 Fisherman BUT my $7,000 boat cost me $42,000; transom, stringers and a new, bigger engine. On top of that the "mechanic" at the local marina turned out to be a parts replacer and cost me most of my charter season. Now I have a "new" old boat but after chartering in 3 different styles of boats, this is what I need.
