Started in 100 fow at 6 am. Trolled out to 130 with no action for 2 hours.

Then I decided to follow Pug’s advice and switch out my glow spoons for SD white double slick with a green fly on my rigger. Almost immediately landed a 6 and 5 lb king back to back on my rigger down 100 ft.

Completely shutdown for me after that.

Gorgeous day on the lake. IMG_9421.JPG

PUG thanks you for the report :)

strange setup with all this warm water for sure -- or maybe it is normal for August and we've just been spoiled

If the wind holds, I'm heading out tonight for a short trip.  Planning on starting in 120 and fishing out on a WSW or WNW.    Going to start with the following spread from port to starboard:

350 Copper - Plug

Mag Diver back 230 - Meat Rig

Downrigger at 90 - Mag Glow Spoon

Downrigger at 115 - Big White Paddle / Fly

Mag Diver back 190 - Spin Doctor / Fly

400 Copper - Meat Rig (I like to punish the crew!)

Sounds like a good spread in theory!

FYI, both of my fish this morning came on a north troll out by the sliders

I keep hearing about the sliders.  Are they south of Holland?

Options right now:

go out deep fish the higher temp break for mostly immature fish

Grind where the cold water meets the bottom and hope to wake up those moody matures
