Lef T Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Abbreviated trip this morning. We were hoping the weather man was wrong, but it turns out he was right for once. Lines down about 5:45 in 70' of water heading SW. Had 3 hits on a rigger with a green glow tomic plug. Landed one, about a 7# coho. One hit on the 7 color leadcore with a blue splatterback plug. 7# king. By 8 o'clock the radar showed a storm popping up just to our west so had to pack up early. Ended up 2 for 5 with 4 hits on riggers about 54' down. One of the hits was on a free slider. Fished from 80 to 100 for a while then moved out to 120 to no avail so we were coming back in when we had to boogie. By the time we hit Pigeon Lake the rain started pretty good. Torrential downpours on the way home. Fun fun fun! 4
SeaFoam Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Good for you. I got up at 4:30 and checked the radar. Then went back to bed. 1

zgrinder on Fin Warrior Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Bold move to go out. I seldom go out in the morning because of weather and I am toast for the evening. I did high seas when I was younger. Now I find flat and calm. But it is fun when I do an early run. Glad you got a few - the heavens did open up this morning. 2

I wanted to keep going south towards Holland, but the lightning to the south made us turn north. Then a cell popped up to our west and exploded quickly. We used to do the high seas as well. I like flat and calm too. Early morning is a unique experience with the total darkness, but evenings get late way too quickly. 1
2MD Posted August 6 Posted August 6 good times despite the weather and give you a lot of credit for trying PUG wants us to go out tonight... we will see! 1

FBD Posted August 6 Posted August 6 That rain was substantial. Was coming down in sheets here about a mile south of Lake Mac. 1
maddog61 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Went 1/3 reeled up a 24" silver in the rain. Live to fish another day! 2
