LongLine Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 4/21 & boy did it feel good to finally get out there and see this: Launched at the Genny around 6:00. Blew a little smoke firing her up but everything checked out fine. Putted around a little then put them out on the west side & headed towards Russell. River temp 46F, out front 44F, west in 15Ft – 42 F (surface). Blue surface water at 35Ft was 39.5F. Did the North-South thing in front of Russell out to 40 FOW, till I spotted this “hull busting beastâ€: (over 20 ft long) Then decided to work over the 18-22 range, as there was a lot of screen activity there. Glad I did cuz that’s where I got this big shouldered brute: 30†& 14 Lbs of Brown - 14 down over 20FOW, NK melon, and 2.1 mpg down & headed North. Couldn’t have asked for a better shakedown cruise. 1st sun/wind burn of the year feels ggggooooooodddd. Pulled everything in at noon. Luck to all,
Priority1 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 WTG Tom. That is a vn Football Brown. Sunup and sunset are always special on the big water.
Reel_Screamer Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 That is a "pig" brown great job guys, that looks like a female brown full of eggs. Brown spawn= lots of steelhead. That is the only thing bad about the shake down is that the water is full of crap....
LongLine Posted April 22, 2007 Author Posted April 22, 2007 Thanx guys. It's always a challange to bring them in like this solo with 2 riggers & flotsam all around.
Billy V Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Beauty Tom!!! WTG. Keep the great reports and pics coming.
GLF Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Nice brown Tom. That log in the water looks like it could sink the Titanic!
SEADUCKTION Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Tom, Way to go on the shake down. That is one sweet brown, bet it was full of bait. Good Luck and thanks for the report. Rich
