Fishing was slow for all boats I talked to out of Pentwater on Saturday morning. We talked to 3 charter captains and they got 8 fish between the three of them with nothing over 10 pounds.

We got a 21 # king, a decent laker and a small, throwback king. Started in 130 and worked out to 190. Had decent marks between 160 and 175.

Both kings came on a 300 Cu with 2 colors of Pb added and a magnum green knight spoon in 161 and 170 fow. The laker hit on a 250 Cu with a Bad Toad RV spoon.

We fished water between 120 feet down and 50 feet down. Temps were in the mid 40s 100 feet down.

I'm hoping it picks up soon. There are big fish around, but they seem to be really scattered.20220806_095433.jpg20220806_081358.jpg20220806_081324.jpg

That big king buried the board and had a huge initial run. It somehow managed to take the whole setup waaaay beyond and outside the 250 Cu that was outside of it, but nothing tangled.

Here she is showing me how red her hands are from reeling. Screenshot_20220808-154955_Gallery.jpg

Great day with the kids. I always love it when you catch as much or more than the charters who go out every day. That big king must have been a riot to net.
I hope to get up to Pentwater yet this year.
