GLF Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Whats your favorite brand of spoon to use on Lake Ontario. If you do not fish Lake Ontario, please do not answer the poll.
SkeinMachine Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Stinger stingrays were consistent last season.
tbromund Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 R&R's out of New York. Good action throughout the entire trolling speed range.Tim
LongLine Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 R&R's moved up 3 rows in my tackle box last year but still have a row to go to top my NKs.
scott14580 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Fishlanders have found their way to the top of my list.
Billy V Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Northern Kings have always been my favorite, but I've been incorporating more R&R's and Dreamweavers into the spread the past few years.
IRISH56 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Gotta go with the R&R's as well, $$$ spoon out the LOC last year and a whole bunch more. Big fan of NK's also.DAN
Storm Warning II Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Drop a Silver Streak Ole Yeller off your deep rigger and see if you start liking Silver Streak (Wolverine)I do also have to add: First 2 day trip to the bar a couple weeks ago we caught 2 Kings on NKs, we caught 1 King on Dreamweavers, we caught 9 Kings on Silver Streaks and I lost track of the coho on one particular Silver Streak.
SkeinMachine Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 A fishlander super glo was on fire for me the last 2 trips out,we'll see if it remains................
marijo Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I like Rac spoon, as they have a nice range of speed.Marijo
Blue Knight Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Apex has been the most consistent for me for over 30 years. The 4.5 & 5.5 have been the most productive & as for colours, watermelon, Stinnson, Glow ladderback & chrome/green scale.
dave70038 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 My personal fav's are Great Lake Lures....killer on Lake O!!!Dave
Finders Keepers Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Stinger UV Tuxedos and Seasick Waddlers did the most damage for us last year - any size, any speed, any depth in the water column, all season long!
cbw5007 Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I like Dreamweaver and Norther Kings spoons deep on the downrigger. Little Cleo's spoons up near the top on planer boards. Here is an article I wrote on the best salmon lures for the Great Lakes. I use to fish Lake Ontario and Like Erie quite a bit.
