caznik Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hi Member's,I have been trying to get my boat ready and when I was checking everything out. I turned on my bielde pump and it just blows my fuse. I checked out my wires and they look ok. I was wondering if just maybe my pump is frozen and that is why its blowing my fuse all the time. I need a second opinion. Thanks,Rich
shu9265 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 sounds like your pump is "froze up" like you said, or there is something in therekeeping the impeller from turning causing and over load.
Priority1 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Probably frozen, but it's a good idea to pull them apart every year. Bilge pumps seem to attract everything from fish line to dog hair. If too much of this crap gets in there, it will prevent them from pumping.
caznik Posted April 7, 2007 Author Posted April 7, 2007 Thanks guys, I went back out and hit my pump a few times and now it works good. Probly was just frozen like you all said, BUT if I have to hit again when it gets warmer I will replace it no matter or what. Thanks again,Rich
Paulywood Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 It's a good idea to backflush the bilge every once in a while too, Caz. Helps clean out any junk that might get stuck or built up in there.
