GLIN Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Every dollar provided by the federal government for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative will spur an additional $3.35 in economic activity by 2036, according to new research led by the University of Michigan. The research looks at several cities around the Great Lakes and finds that federal money for environmental projects helps boost other activities such as recreation, craft brewing and waterfront development.
