Borch Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 We use slide divers almost exclusively now. Fishing out if a smaller boat t biggest work great for running leads as long as you want. Started running them on wire 2 years ago.
Borch Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 They make a kit with a larger ring and heavier weight that results in a 2:1 diver ratio on the #2 setting with wire. Nice for when the kings are deep. Ucharters has a video showing the set up on youtube.
Salmon_slammin Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Would anyone go as far as to say they five as deep as magnum dipseys? They really would help on my small boat.Sent from my SM-S727VL using Tapatalk
Borch Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I don't have my chart in front of me but I'm pretty sure the mag diver dives deeper unless you add the deeper dive kit to the slide diver. Then the slide diver goes deeper. I run a 30 and 50 foot lead on my wire ups and could run longer. Some guys run the dipseys with a loop tied into the line with a small s-biner in the dipsey ro get a longer lead. They then remove it like a planer board when bringing the line it
littleboat Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 What size and kind of wire are you using on the slide diver?
Borch Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 30# blood run with a 30-50' leader of 65# suffix braid for the slide diver.

Borch Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Yes. Clip the slide diver on the braid just before the wire. Ucharters have some instructional videos on it on youtube and the braid to wire knot.
littleboat Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 No flouro at all? Doesn't seem to change the bite percentage?
Borch Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Short leader added. My divers are usually some of my best rods. They were not before I switched once the water got so clear. You can add a short leader of fluoro but I use mono for some additional stretch. Hard to handline them in with a smaller boat especially if you're going solo. 1
