In Michigan, the city of Port Huron has announced a deal to finally separate the last of its combined sewers and stop the discharge of untreated sewage to the Black River and points downstream. The irony is that local utilities are investing to make our collective future so much cleaner and brighter, all while politicians are burning the midnight oil to dismantle environmental safeguards.
