GLIN Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 A federal judge’s ruling in 2016 halted wildlife management agencies from their practice of killing limited numbers of double-crested cormorants to control their populations. That ruling — and the lack of progress on solutions since — has cormorant populations rising again, leading to concerns that that the voracious birds will harm local fisheries as they did in the early 2000s.
