Honda Outboard Recall Stance

   Found out online low n high pressire fuel pumps design flaw on 1999 Honda 130s was covered via a recall letter.
   Since I am not original owner later, never rec’d letter.
   Sent Honda Marine a letter with copy of the work order I paid last year for the fix and was told “product upgrade” (not recall) only applied diring the 1999-2002 warranty period.
   Never heard of that before. Service bulletins for cars are not usually restricted just to warranty oeriod.
   Sent them response email about that I wasn’t happy with their response.
   The design flaw was fuel pumpscorrode and fail and that’s what happened last year when we got towed in by BoatUs. Glad I have my unlimited Great Lakes towing insurance through BoatUs.
   And, just getting my boat back from marina due to a failing ignition coil. My 130 doesn’t appear to be as reliable as my previous 40hp Honda 4 stroke.
