Fishing Report Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Ohio waters of the western basin are primarily ice-free, but floating chunks of ice are still present as of 3/27. Over the weekend of 3/24 walleye fishing got under way with most of the fish that were caught coming from anglers that jigged on the Camp Perry reef complex. Cone reef was on of the best areas. As the water warms expect jig fishing to be good on most of the Camp Perry reefs and in nearshore areas all the way from Maumee Bay to Cedar Point. Larger female walleye can be caught by trolling minnow imitating stickbaits in the open water around the reefs and islands.
