Algae 2018: Record bloom unlikely, but Lake Erie will still get lots of thick scum

Data so far suggests this summer’s bloom could be milder than it was in 2016, or — on the far end — rival 2013 as the third-largest bloom since satellite images started becoming available on a regular basis in 2002.
