budwinn42 Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Played around in south haven today, all the boats went out to 200, I stayed in and fished the weather buoy AGAIN. It never puts me on limits, but ended up 5 for 6 with 3 steelhead and 3 small kings. Kept one steelhead and One king just to feed us, and let the rest swim. All fish caught on north troll in 65-70 fow, 1.8-2.2 and every single one came on a downrigger 70 down with a spin n glow behind a tin can 5 feet behind the ball. budwinn42 Posted September 23, 2017 Author Posted September 23, 2017 No lakers. I think they’re out in that 200. We didn’t mark many fish around the weather buoy, but still managed a good day, thank you, I was pretty amazed myself. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
Sassy Sharon Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 I tried your set-up out of Muskegon from 4:00pm till 7:30pm but it didn't do anything for us. I started in 60fow and trolled out to 130fow north to south and back again
budwinn42 Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 I haven’t checked the weather buoys north of port Sheldon, but last time I checked, the water was quite a bit colder up that way. Sorry to have led you astray, but hey, atleast you had an awesome day to fish. It was dead flat out there yesterday Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
DanL Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Any signs they're coming in? Can't seem to find any in the rivers or at piers. The rivers are pretty low, and it might be tough for them to get through.Sent from my A621BL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
