Creekerman Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 South Haven 4-22-17 AM Got a late start....about 9:00 AM this morning. But all the fish came between 10:00 AM and about 12:15 PM. Solo outing...couldn't find a deck hand. 4 for 4 all cohos in 180-190 FOW... approx. 2.5mph SOG. All on south troll. First was on a blue dolphin spoon on 3 color leadcore. The last 3 were all on downrigger with chartreuse spin doctor and dark blue fly at 65-70 ft. down. Quit at about 1:00 PM because waves started to come over my stern. Wanted to limit out...no go. 5
littleboat Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Nice catch! I know you were anxious to get out. Real nice start to begin your season. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
dan agnello Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Creekerman: Great job n report! Is SoHa city launch fish cleaning station open yet? Thks
Creekerman Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 Fish cleaning station is NOT open. The DNR guy there told me it will likely be closed for quite a while yet due to the construction that is going on there. Public bathrooms are not operating either. The pot-a-potties are there though.
dan agnello Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Guess if we don't pay until sewer construction is done we don't get to use cleaning station. Cleaning station is not is area of construction but maybe the drain is affected. I'll contact the city engineer and harbormaster about it. They never answered my previous email about it. Thanks
Creekerman Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 I was told that the water was shut off to the cleaning station and the restroom building due to the construction. There was a lot of construction materials piled all around those units.
dan agnello Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Yep, believe they're using back lot behind restrooms as lay down area for pipe etc. City guy cleaning the docks said water has been off but I would expect they would turn it on soon. He uses hose to spray launch area and docks to remove goose poop! Also, those slips upriver from launch are part of city n they use city water, power and have full time access to rest rooms via a door code!!! I already sent e-mails to Kate, Harbormaster and Larry, City Eng. I'll report what they say!
