coralee Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Holland 4-8 Coho Well its was great meeting and fishing with Don today and it was the first trip of the year for the Slickcraft and all went very well. 225-230 was best depth, early was 5-20 down and later 25-45 was best. ssw troll. 11 for 13 if you count the seagull. We did release the gull as it was out of season. Ended the day on a great note with a true double on the rigger and slider plus the diver went for a triple. Nice day out there today. Once we figured out they wanted copper and gold it was game on. 7

FBD Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Went south for browns, too dirty. Went north, good looking water but full of junk with lures constantly fouled. Slid out to 40 and trolled back to the pier heads washing the bow lights every couple waves in the 14' and having to fire the pump more than once. Waves got to be 3' and that wasn't a big deal, then they settled down some but the wind bunched them up so tightly that we could not get the bow up in time. No hits. Guess it can only get beetter, sure am glad we didn't try to reach those coho.
Engfishman87 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 We did well also Saturday afternoon out of Saugatuck. Our best water for us was 240'-260' We caught our 4 man limit in about 2.5 hours. It didn't seem to matter what color we had on but we were running some of the same as you have in your picture. Nice first trip of the year with a lot of clean up needed in the boat after all the Coho scales. 1

They sure can make a mess. Thats the reason for the large tote in the pic. We dump them straight into the tote and then into the live well with water in it so they don't stick. I think we saw you sw of us. Only boat we saw that far out. We were from the slides almost to Saugy.
Engfishman87 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 That was probably us. It was kinda lonely way out there!
