Favorite Plugs???

Whos fishing plugs? What's everyone's favorite plugs? Brand? Size? Colors? When are you fishing them? How are you fishing them?

Silver Horde Ace Hi or Dreamweaver Captain's Choice are in the water for us 90% of the time we're fishing plugs. Had a little better luck late season around the pier heads with the Dreanweavers last year, their rattle is louder with a higher pitch and it seemed like that's what they wanted last year more. Colors that work year in and year out late July thru September are Green or Blue Splatter Back, Green Lightning, Yellow Lightning, MOP Black dots, Glow, Yellow Tail, The Grinch, Chrome Redhead, Green Ladder back, Easter Egg. This a good explanation on when to fish them, we pretty much use them at all the different scenarios described in the video.

Are we talking coho or browns in close, scum line steel, pier head steel, deep kings, harbor kings, or mixed bag late season shallow fishing?

OP, are you referring to J-Plugs or Crankbait style plugs? I use the latter quite often, X-Raps, Bay Rat LXDs, and my favorite, M-2 Flatfish. Mainly troll them slow for Lakers and cast-and-retrieve them for all Salmonids. Rip fast at first to get them down then reel in slowly .

I've taken a 9#, 10#, and 10.4# walleye trolling for kings in close on j plugs.  All on different colors.  Also taken two just under 10 on j-13 firetiger rapalas.

Dreamweaver Captains choice, I run a variety colors and presentations.  Oddly enough my best steelhead rod 2 years in a row has been 200' Cu with a blue splatter back captains choice, along with taking many kings.  If you can find #2 J plugs in orange, they've been good for me on short cores for steel as well.  ,
