With the steel showing up in rivers and the lake at a average temp in the 50s, are the piers still a good shot this time of year?

Pier can be tough this time of year. That's my opinion anyways. Others may feel differently. I have spent hours on the piers catching nothing, then all of the sudden it turns on. And you never know what your going to catch. Might get a steelhead, or maybe a big brown or even a coho or Chinook. Mostly though you got to be really patient. Weather is a big factor too. Never know what to expect. I usually come prepared to head up river if the waves are crashing over the walls bad.

When the whitefish come in it will be better. Again, "my opinion"

What piers?  If the waters above 55 degrees right now - there may be a few fish around, but I've had better luck when the water drops below 55 degrees.
