Priority1 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Late in August 2 of fished in 30 FOW. We worked hard for 13 nice walleye on a constantly changing day. One of the fish had some lip bling and didn't know it was one of the few tags that are worth $100. According to the DNR about 10% of the tagged fish are stamped with the reward designation. The fish was an 18" male when tagged. I weighed and measured it at 1# 14oz and 18-5/16". We have taken numerous tagged fish over the years but this is the first reward tag. Another unique thing was this fish was tagged at the Au Gres River March 21, 2016 a 160 days before the catch. All of our other tags were from fish tagged on the Titt River. 2
FBD Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 No self respecting king would put on 5/16" over a summer! 1

Nailer Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 It's always fun catching tagged fish. I've gotten 3 in Muskegon, and one was a pay back fish. Great job on the tagged fish Frank. You deserve it. 2
EdB Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 That's awesome you got a reward tag! I'd be thrilled with jaw tagged eye. I have never got one. 1
gmfishon Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I'm not sure where I stand here, also the first I've heard of it. If I have it right the DNR puts tags that are worth money on some fish ??
Nailer Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 To encourage the return of tags, some pay dividends. I'm not sure on the percentage. I turned in 3, and one payed me back. I no longer remember the amount.
