ReelNauti Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Set up in front of the sliders in 85 fow. Took a 9lb king on an SWR on a rigger down 65, uv green jeans stingray. Shortly after took a 4lb coho on a mag low diver back 110 on a uv green jeans spinnie with pickled sunshine fly. Boats were scattered water warmed and pushed the thermo deeper. Caught fish on North and South troll. Saw a 30lb king at the fish cleaning station that was caught just north of Port Sheldon. Thing was an absolute beast. Ended 2 for 2 not stellar but we will take it! Sent from my SM-G920V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App 3
FBD Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Was about 2 miles south of you in 60-70'. I think as the fish finder would not fire and I had to keep bouncing bottom with a rigger. Thought I was getting my first skunk of the year but pulling lines found a 4# hook jawed buck king that was tan and ready to run on the 200' copper. Then a 3# sheep on the s w r down 36, both on mag moonshines. 1
ReelNauti Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 that's weird that fish wasn't biggerSent from my SM-G920V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
Salmon_slammin Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Very strange with all the sheep. Fished holland that night as well 1/2 diver popped once and fish got off lemon ice meat back 105. Then took a 5 lb King on an ace hi plug 50 down on a rigger right at dark. 70-80 fow. Graph LIT UP... Thinking they were all sheephead now!
FBD Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Not weird at all. Plenty of male kings run at one year old. Coho too. At the Platte River hatchery some Yeats over half the Coho are mature jacks.
