Creekerman Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Nasty flies were on the attack last outing... I'm wondering if anyone has tried using one of those Thermacell mosquito repellant devices on their boat? Does it work? Claim is that it protects up to 15X15 feet or 225sq ft. Thought I might consider it instead of using skin applications. Any experience? Amazon.com link http://www.amazon.com/Thermacell-Mosquito-Repellent-Outdoor-Repeller/dp/B00UTIDBW2
hhlhoward Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I have one on my boat when the biters are out but it doesn't seem to help any. My buddy always buys the good quality bounce dryer sheets and rubs them on his clothes and says that keeps everything away. He's been doing for years. I'm going to try that this year
Floating Holiday Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I've heard people using equine spray for horse trailers, I bought some last year and used it a couple times, seemed to work ok. (Not something I would spray on yourself but around the boat)
Martin1950 Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I've been using horse spray for years, The only drawback is I catch myself eating grass on occasion. Martin 1
Buzz Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Thermacell's work wonders on mosquitos and black flies but don't seem to phase those nasty lake flies unfortunately. They are absolutely a gift from God when the mosquitos are bad though. 1
