cheap limits Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Fished four days out of qsea in 4 to 7 fow dragging meat 13 to 15 off the boards with three quarter ounce bouncers at 1.6 to 1.8. Hit two four man limits and 2 two man limits of really nice sized fish. We also caught some nice perch and a lot of catfish. I am trying to get some pics to up load. 2
Mega Byte Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Help a new guy out....what makes the walleye decide to get into that skinny water? This is my first year fishing walleye and we started in mid-April over structure. The fish seemed to have gradually worked their way deeper since then, but I haven't been out in a couple of weeks. The last time I was out we got them in 30 fow. I fish out of Au Gres. I am trying to understand what made you decide to go in so shallow and why the fish would be there. I have heard similar reports on the west side too, that the fish were in shallower water. Not single digit shallow but significantly shallower than 30. Thanks for the report.
cheap limits Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 I am only fishing a couple miles down the shoreline from the mouth of the saginaw river. When the fish come out from spawning they are hungry, the fish are in there feeding on perch and minnows. I know this because they are puking them all over my boat and when we are trolling the minnows are jumping out of the water by the boat. I fish the same areas the same times of year every year. The bite has been on in the shallows since early may. 1
