jdh Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I'm always looking to experiment with different types of lures, so I added some larger spoons. Got my order of 6" Tomics spoons as well as a larger plug delivered today and can't wait to catch some big fish with them. The plan is to run these guys deep 80+ or maybe in the mud. I'll report back if I get them to work. The other two spoons are similar to a regular streak or a mini-streak. Tight Lines. -JDH 1
mrhookup Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I imagine those would work for Lake Trout on the bottom, we caught a 5lb laker in St. Joe a couple weeks ago that had an 8" goby in it Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app

FBD Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 My largest fish last year, a 16# laker, came on a mini streak. The largest two walleye I have ever caught, came in the channel on size 5 j plugs though. Never know until you try...
Divemaster Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Those look like some great lures! I've noticed one thing in particular when trolling for Lakers, and that is when the fish have lockjaw, replace all the 3-4" spoons you're running with 5-6" ones and the fish will respond (might be more of a aggressive instinct rather than a predatory one).
jdh Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Well, my order of 000 spin n glows showed up. The big lakers don't stand a chance!
coralee Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 You might be able to replace your prop with one of those! 2
jdh Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 Ha! Just need to figure out how to attach a hook to the back of my prop.
Yooperdad Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 This is a 00 Spin N Glo setup that has been very successful for me in Superior.
