Jerry, Good guys most always pass the rod. It was more than likely your expertise that made this happen. You were probably on the net and who knows what would have happened if the roles were reversed. In the end the net man seals the deal. No doubt about that.

jerryn Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 We were on Lake Oahe, the GFP stocks them in there, been fishing for them for 12 years now 1
Hoosier Daddy Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 How big was the fish Jerry? Nice to have the State Record!
jerryn Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 It was 24.5 lbs, not quite as big as those in your area, they really suffered the last 4 years when they dumped all of the smelt through the dam when they had the flood there, really messed up salmon fishing. They were catching salmon in the Missouri river all the way down to Nebraska. They dumped a ton of salmon through the emergency spillway
jmohunts Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 24.5# is a beauty. Anything over 20 is Big in my eyes, Won't find any better fight for the size in fresh water. Good going Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
