DipsyLand Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Fished 3 lines from 7:30 to Noon running between 130 to 150 FOW. Ended the day with a pair of Kings. Lots of marks (bait and fish) on the graph. Also got inspected by the new CG stealth drone as I was pulling my lines in. I think the boat passed. #1 Shaker king on Mag Flounder Pounder 60 feet down 30 back on rigger. 145 Fow 2.8 SOG SE troll. #2 6.5# King on blue/glow plug. 68 feet down 30 back on rigger. 150 FOW 2.6 SOG NE troll. Meat rig on the Dipsy a depths from 50 to 70 feet went unloved.
reeltimebrad Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Are you serious? Ive not heard of this stealth drone before would seem like a huge invasion of privacy if there flying around your boat in 150 ft of water where you would'nt expect anyone to be watching and recording what your doing.
DipsyLand Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Not to mention dangerous. Almost fell overboard when it zipped in front of my face out of the blue.
CSmalligan Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 DispyLand, are you referring to the bird in the picture as the CG drone?
DipsyLand Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Yes. I didn't think anyone would take that seriously. I guess given the times I should have been a little more clear.
CSmalligan Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Ok. We had a gold finch that hung around during one outting when the flies were bad. He would move around the boat picking off the flies.
DipsyLand Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Hmm... trained birds to deal with summer flies. Seems like there might be a market for something like that.
littleboat Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Ok. We had a gold finch that hung around during one outting when the flies were bad. He would move around the boat picking off the flies. Me too, more green looking
Hockey390 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 We had a few of those birds buzzing us on Sunday morning as well out of Holland! One flew right between me and my buddy and surprised us both pretty good. Lots of Monarch butterflies out too.
Carl.j.o Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Saturday after we scraped our salmon program for perch we seen a hummingbird like bird go zipping by. South haven in from of the dunes
sparky30 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Hummingbirds, Monarch butterflys and bats all have a migration pattern that take them across the lake, thats why you see a bunch more this time of year, we saw 4 bats last week. And Monarchs are really starting to migrate, amazing a butterfly knows to travel all the way to central america!
