Ken
Tried that............ when the key is turned, it clicks, just once.......... going to try to jump the solenoid tomorrow....... hoping it's not the starter, but due to the crappy boat cover i had, it filled with water, when ,when i took it off, sent the water towards the stern of the boat.......... a LOT of water. jdh
Check the battery terminal connection. If it's slightly loose it will click.
Ken
the batteries i have ,use the small post/wing nut set up, great for solid hook ups............
danthebuilder
the batteries i have ,use the small post/wing nut set up, great for solid hook ups............I've already learned the hard way that statement isn't true. Take it off (the cables) and check for corrosion. Edited August 22, 2015 by danthebuilder
Ken
Brand new cables both sides......... battery terminals were cleaned and greased..It's getting power, just won't turn over.going to try to jump the solenoid.....
sherman51
if the solenoid is clicking its probably working. I would say its your starter going by the info you gave us. if the battery is fully charged and the terminals are tight and clean at both ends them my next step would be to remove starter and take it to a auto parts store like auto zone and have it tested. Ken
Jumped solenoid, with key on..boat turned over and actually started. Shut it off and turned key no click just silence...guessing ignition switch is the problem.50 amp breaker looks like it tripped, but can't tell. Gonna replace it .
