slickwater Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Just wondering how the sunrise side is doing for salmon and steelhead? It would be nice to see some reports from Oscoda to the bridge.
hear fishy fishy Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Normally do a few reports for over there but haven't been up this year. It was decent fishing last year north of Alpena.
Play Dough Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Just wondering how the sunrise side is doing for salmon and steelhead? It would be nice to see some reports from Oscoda to the bridge. Not much action in the Straits at the moment. Lakers are being taken here and there. A few good catches a week or so ago, but not so much the last couple days. Storms and wind due beginning tomorrow for a couple days may help or hinder the situation.
bite me Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Hi guys I'm new here, but have been fishing out of Rogers city alpena and PI for years, the salmon fishing in our area started slow and spotty but with the water temps climbing and the year progressing the larger salmon are becoming more common, Rogers city is becoming such a fun fishery, with steady lake trout catches steel, walleye Atlantics and kings, you can have such a cool mixed bag catch, the lake trout fishing early on was great with easey limits out of Rogers city and PI, walleye fishing out of alpena early on was also quite good. I have been reading this sight for quite a while and find some very good insight!!
hhlhoward Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Welcome! I have been wanting to fish up that way for a few years now. I think next year im going to spend a weeks vacation up there to check it out. From what ive seen its a beautiful place to fish
bite me Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Its is a very nice area to fish. No crowds and some good fish to be had. Good luck and maybe I'll see you on the water next year!
steeliebob Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Walleye and Pike have treated me good so far this summer. The salmon fishing in the straits has gone south so I hope that there is some steelhead to be caught.
